Front Gates - What happened?

Last week we had another complete failure of the front gates of our community. After an emergency meeting with the gate repair company, we learned that our gates have been failing for years (We all have experienced the gate failures over the years) The gate repair company informed us that our gate system is years out of a date in both operation and safety regulations. They have been advising the previous boards for years that a full system swap out is absolutely necessary. Not only will the gate keep failing, but we are opening ourselves to liability by not having the proper safety features that come with a more modern system. The previous boards decided to continue to "band-aid" the problem and kicking the problem down the road. Over the years we have spent more on "band-aids" then the cost to have replaced the system. After another major failure this past week - The current board is acting on the advise of the Gate Repair company and making the right financial decision for our community to overhaul the gate motor system. We appreciate your patience over the next few days until the parts come in and can be installed.

On a positive note, the timing worked out great with our new security. We should all sleep better at night during this time that at least we have our new security monitoring the gate at night while they are on patrol until is repaired.
